At Ms. Bea’s Music Studio, tuition is charged as a flat monthly rate based on the total number of teaching weeks in the year. The studio operates on a 38-week annual schedule, excluding the summer session (June–July).
Tuition is calculated by multiplying the total number of lessons by the lesson rate, then dividing that total evenly across 10 monthly payments (January–May and August–December). This means tuition remains the same each month regardless of the number of lessons that fall within a given month.
This structure provides consistency and predictability for both families and Ms. Bea, while supporting a structured, year-round music education. Tuition covers the student’s reserved weekly lesson time, studio materials and preparation, recital participation, and two teacher flex weeks each year for scheduling adjustments or make-ups initiated by Ms. Bea. Because tuition is based on reserved lesson time rather than attendance, there are no refunds or credits for missed lessons. This policy ensures each student’s lesson time remains secured throughout the year.
-
Ms. Bea always prefers to see a student rather than miss a lesson and will make every reasonable effort to fit a student into her schedule when possible.
If a student must miss a lesson, tuition will not be refunded or credited, as that time is reserved exclusively for that student.
If a student is feeling unwell, the parent/guardian is asked to cancel the lesson. If the student is mildly under the weather and chooses to keep the lesson, the student should wear a mask during the lesson. Ms. Bea will do the same when feeling unwell.

The 2026 studio year runs from January 5, 2026, through December 18, 2026, totaling 38 teaching weeks.
Students are automatically enrolled for the full studio year. If lessons must end before June 2026, the parent/guardian must provide one month’s written notice. Should lessons be discontinued immediately after notice is given, tuition for the final month is still required.
Ms. Bea reserves the right to discontinue lessons at any time for reasons including (but not limited to) excessive absences, or failure to meet studio expectations.
Ms. Bea also reserves the right to adjust tuition annually to reflect inflation and continued professional development.
Meet Ms. Bea
Bella Smith is a classically trained mezzo-soprano and multi-instrumentalist from San Diego, CA. Growing up in a musical family, she was surrounded by singing, instruments, and jam sessions from an early age, sparking a lifelong love of music. She always loved singing, but over time picked up the piano, guitar, and ukulele, developing a passion for styles ranging from classical to jazz to musical theatre. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Point Loma Nazarene University and is dedicated to helping students discover their own voice, build confidence, and find joy in music-making.
